America's Cup Inn
If you want to make your vacation money go further, the America's Cup Inn has some of the best rates to be found in Newport, without sacrificing any comfort. This is a steal for an elegant little inn in toney Newport. If you don’t want to sacrifice sophistication for value, try the Jailhouse Inn. Not the typical Victorian style so embraced in Newport, the Jailhouse has guestrooms with cool neutral tones and sleek furnishings. The inn is an award-winning adaptation of one of Newport’s most historic structures and has a colorful history: it was the Newport jail back in the 1700’s, and then the police station until 1986. There are interesting details that have been retained, like grated iron windows and doors. The location is great, too, in the heart of Newport within walking distance of wonderful dining, shopping, and entertainment. You can park the car and leave it for the duration of your stay, or better yet, take the bus to Newport and save the gas. You’re only a few minutes from the bus depot.
